Lees-McRae College Description:

Located in Banner Elk, North Carolina, and about 4,000 feet above sea level, Lees-McRae College is a private, four-year Presbyterian college and a great place for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. With about 850 students and a student-faculty ratio of 15 to 1, Lees-McRae provides students with an intimate learning environment. The college is proud of its Outdoor Programs Department and the miles of running, biking, and hiking trails on their tobacco-free, 460 acre campus. The college also has over 26 student organizations including intramural sports, fraternities and sororities, and clubs like Beekeeping and Quidditch. Lees-McRae is a member of the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas, but their cycling team is Division I including five national championships. For those who can’t stand to leave the family pet behind, students in their second year can apply to live in a pet-friendly room, and bring their furry (or feathered or scaled) friend along.
