Founded in 1932, Lawrence Technological University is a private university located in Southfield, Michigan, with easy access to Detroit. As the name suggest, the university specializes in technological fields such architecture, engineering, communications and management. Along with the necessary math and science skills, Lawrence Tech's curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning and leadership. The school takes pride in its high employment rate of graduates, 12 to 1 student / faculty ratio, and small class sizes. The school has seen significant growth in recent decades, and it offers online, evening and weekend classes to meet the needs of working students. In athletics, the Blue Devils compete with in the NAIA, within the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. Popular sports include ice hockey, basketball, golf, soccer, volleyball, and track and field.
