Kean University Description:

Founded in 1855, Kean University is a large public university located on a 150-acre campus in Union, New Jersey, with easy access to Newark and New York City. The university has grown well beyond its early days as a teachers college, but education remains the most popular field of study. Undergraduates can choose from 48 degree programs. The majority of Kean students commute to campus, but the university does have several residence halls and an active fraternity and sorority system. In athletics, the Kean Cougars compete in the NCAA Division III New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). Popular sports include football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball, and baseball.
