Kansas Wesleyan University is a small, private university university located on a 28-acre campus in Salina, Kansas. The majority of students come from Kansas, and Topeka is about 100 miles to the east and Wichita is 80 miles to the south. The university offers 27 majors, and among undergraduates business, nursing, and physical education are most popular. Along with the traditional undergraduate programs, the college has an MBA program and an evening program in business management for adults. Academics at KWU are supported by a 13 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 20. Students have further educational opportunities through the Associated Colleges of Central Kansas, a consortium of six private, church-related colleges: KWU, Bethany College, Bethel College, McPherson College, Sterling College and Tabor College. Popular areas of study include professional fields such as nursing and business. Kansas Wesleyan is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, and both the mission and vision emphasize the integration of academic and spiritual development. Student life includes a range of clubs and organizations. On the athletic front, the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes compete in the NAIA Division II KCAC, Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. The university fields 12 varsity teams.
