Kalamazoo College is located in southwest Michigan, just blocks from Western Michigan University. The college emphasizes student engagement -- over 80% of students complete some form of internship, over 85% participate in study abroad, and over 60% are engaged in a service-learning project. Kalamazoo's "K-Plan" emphasizes life-long learning, career readiness, intercultural understanding, social responsibility and leadership. The college ranks well for its value, and it was featured in Loren Pope's Colleges That Change Lives. Kalamazoo's strengths in the liberal arts and sciences earned it a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
