Johnson State College Admissions Overview:

Since Johnson State College has an acceptance rate of 95%, the vast majority of those who apply will be admitted to the school. Students can apply with the Common Application, and must also submit a letter of recommendation, a high school transcript, and scores from either the SAT or ACT. Johnson State College Description:

Outdoor lovers with appreciate the hilltop location of Johnson State's 350-acre campus in the Green Mountains of Northern Vermont. Students will find easy access to hiking, climbing, skiing, camping, and kayaking in the vicinity. For a city escape, Burlington is an hour away and Montreal is an hour-and-a-half drive. Johnson State College is a public liberal arts college that offers over 25 bachelor's degree programs as well as a few master's and associate's programs. About two-thirds of students come from Vermont. In the nineteenth century, Johnson State's emphasis was on teacher training. Today, teaching remains strong, but other programs in business, health, and the liberal arts are also popular among undergraduates. Academics at JSC are supported by a 14 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of about 14. Student life is active with over 30 clubs and a strong emphasis on community service. On the athletic front, the Johnson State Badgers compete in the NCAA Division III North Atlantic Conference for most sports. The college fields six men's and six women's intercollegiate sports.
