Jarvis Christian College is a private, four-year historically Black college that is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). JCC's 243-acre campus is located in Hawkins, Texas, about 100 miles from Dallas. The colleges 600 students are supported by a healthy 13 to 1 student/faculty ratio. JCC does not have any on-campus housing. The college offers programs leading to Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree with teacher certification. Outside of the classroom, JCC students participate in a host of intramural sports and student clubs and organizations. The Jarvis Bulldogs compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Red River Athletic Conference. Sports include men’s and women’ cross country and basketball.
