Founded in 1875 as Indiana Normal School, Indiana University of Pennsylvania is now a large public university that offers 145 undergraduate degree programs and 71 graduate programs. The University frequently receives national recognition for its educational value. IUP is made up of numerous colleges and schools with the College of Health and Human Services having the highest undergraduate enrollment. Student life is active with over 220 student organizations including 18 fraternities and 14 sororities. In athletics, IUP competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference at the NCAA Division II level.
