Founded in 1850, Illinois Wesleyan University is a private liberal arts college located in Bloomington, Illinois, a city about half way between Chicago and St. Louis. The school has an impressive 11 to 1 student / faculty ratio, and the average class size is 17 students. Students can choose from 50 academic programs from both the College of Liberal Arts and College of Fine Arts. The school takes pride in its high first-year retention rate and its 4-year graduation rate.
