Illinois College Description:
Illinois College is a small liberal arts institution located in the town of Jacksonville, Illinois. Founded in 1829, it is the oldest college in Illinois. Students can choose from over 45 academic programs, a large number for a school of around 1,000 students. Illinois College values close relationships between the faculty and students, something made possible with its 13 to 1 student / faculty ratio. The college's strengths in the liberal arts and sciences earned it a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, and its relatively low tuition and significant financial aid earn the school high marks for its value.
