Henderson State University Description:

Henderson State University is a public, four-year liberal arts university located in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, a small town in the southwest of the state. The university's roughly 4,000 students are supported by a 17 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of fewer than 20. The university offers 37 bachelor degree programs as well as numerous graduate and certificate programs. The university also has many online courses and courses with online components. Henderson is divided up into the Matt Locke Ellis College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, the Teacher’s College, the Honors College, and Graduate School. With over 90 student organizations, ten fraternities, six sororities, club sports, and intramurals, there is plenty to do on campus, but for those looking for more, Arkadelphia is 35 miles from the city of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and eight miles from DeGray Lake Resort State Park. Henderson is a member of the NCAA Division II Great American Conference, and the mascot for both the athletic teams and the college is the "Reddie."
