Grambling State University Description:

Grambling State University's 375-acre campus is located in the town of Grambling, a small town about 60 miles east of Shreveport in north central Louisiana. Grambling State is a historically Black university whose roots go back to 1901. The university offers 68 degree programs, and among undergraduates professional fields in business, communications, criminal justice and nursing are the most popular. Among the school's dozens of student clubs and organizations, the Tiger Marching Band is probably the most famous. On the athletic front, the Grambling Tigers compete in the NCAA Division I Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). The university fields five men's and eight women's Division I teams. Popular sports include football, basketball, softball, soccer, and cross country/track and field.
