Goucher College Admissions Overview:

Students with strong grades and academic backgrounds have a good chance of being admitted to Goucher--the school accepts around three-quarters of those who apply each year. Goucher is test-optional, meaning that students are not required to submit scores from the SAT or ACT as part of the application process. The school's website has information regarding application requirements, and students are encouraged to contact the admissions office with any questions.

Goucher College Description:

Goucher College is a private liberal arts college located on a 287-acre campus in Towson, Maryland. Downtown Baltimore is just eight miles away. Founded in 1885 by the Methodist Episcopal Church, as "Women's College of Baltimore City". It was renamed in 1910, and became co-educational in the 1980s. The college recently opened its $48 million Athenaeum, the new center of student life that houses classrooms, an art gallery, a radio station, a café, a library, and meeting and exercise spaces. With a 10 to 1 student / faculty ratio, Goucher prides itself on the close interaction between faculty and students. The college offers 31 undergraduate majors. For its strong programs in the liberal arts and sciences, Goucher was awarded a chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
