Georgian Court University is made up of two colleges: the Women's College and the University College. The latter offers coeducational evening and graduate programs. Georgian Court is a private Roman Catholic college founded and sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. The attractive 156-acre campus is located in Lakewood, New Jersey, 60 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia. The shore is just 10 miles away. The college takes pride in its nurturing environment -- Georgian Court has a 14 to 1 student / faculty ratio and classes average between 15 and 20 students. In athletics, the GCU Lions compete in the NCAA Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).
