Georgia Southwestern State University Description:

Georgia Southwestern State University is a four-year, public university located in Americus, Georgia. Atlanta and Tallahassee are each about two-and-a-half hours away. The university's 3,000 students are supported by a student/faculty ratio of 18 to 1. GSW offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degrees between the School of Business Administration, College of Arts and Sciences, School of Education, School of Nursing, and School of Computing and Mathematics. Campus life is active with about 60 student clubs and organizations including the Artist Association, the Outdoor Adventure Club, and GSW Gaming. The university also has an active Greek life with four fraternities and two sororities. On the athletic front, students will find plenty of intramurals including Indoor Soccer, Flag Football, and Blitz Ball. For intercollegiate sports, GSW competes in the NCAA Division II Peach Belt Conference (PBC) with a variety of sports including men’s golf, women’s cross country, and men’s and women’s tennis.
