Georgia College & State University Description:

Founded in 1889, the Georgia College & State University sits on a 43-acre main campus in historic Milledgeville, Georgia. The campus features attractive red brick buildings and white Corinthian columns. The school is officially designated as "Georgia's Public Liberal Arts University," and the school's approach to learning is similar to many more expensive private liberal arts colleges. Students can choose from over 36 bachelor degree programs, and professional fields such as business, education and nursing are extremely popular. The college has a 17 to 1 student / faculty ratio, and most classes have between 15 and 35 students. On the athletic front, the GCSU Bobcats compete in the NCAA Division II Peach Belt Conference.
