Farmingdale State College Description:

A public college, Farmingdale State College is located in Farmingdale, New York, on Long Island. Farmingdale takes pride in both its campus safety and its educational value. Initially one of New York’s schools of agriculture, Farmingdale has evolved into a multi-disciplinary campus with a wide range of fields of study. Many of the college's majors are technology-centered, and the campus buildings house numerous smart classrooms to help students develop the hands-on skills they will need in the working world. Farmingdale also has a long history of protecting the environment, and the campus is home to the Solar Energy Center, a fleet of battery-powered cars, and extensive green research initiatives. The college has a large commuter population, but also about 600 residential students. Farmingdale State supports dozens of student clubs and organizations, and on the athletic front, the Farmindale State Rams compete in the NCAA Division III Skyline Conference.
