Florida A&M Description:

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University -- more commonly called FAMU or Florida A&M -- occupies a 422-acre campus on a hill in Tallahassee, Florida. Students come from 70 countries, and undergraduates can choose from 62 Bachelor's degree programs. Florida A&M is a historically black university that wins high marks for graduating African Americans in the natural sciences and engineering. While programs in health, business and technology fields are strong, journalism and the social sciences are also popular with undergraduates. On the athletic front, the Florida A&M Rattlers compete in the NCAA Division I Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
