Admissions at Eastern New Mexico University seem selective—around half of those who apply will not be accepted to the school. Still, those with good grades and test scores are likely to be admitted, especially those with a strong application and a number of extra-curricular activities. Eastern New Mexico University Description:

Eastern New Mexico University is a public, four-year college in Portales, New Mexico, with additional locations in Roswell and Ruidoso. It is the largest regional comprehensive university in New Mexico and a member of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities. Its main campus supports nearly 6,000 students with a student/faculty ratio of 19 to 1. ENMU offers over 60 bachelor’s, master’s, and associate’s degrees, and has evening and online courses. Professional fields in areas such as health, aviation, education, and business are popular with undergraduates. You'll also find some unusual undergraduate programs in fields that include dairy science, culinary arts, and forensic science. ENMU students stay busy outside of the classroom with numerous intramural sports and an active Greek life. The school also has a significant commuter population, and 41% of students attend ENMU part-time. The university is home to some unusual clubs such as the Greyhound MMA Club, a Gamers Club, and the I Can’t Cook Club. For intercollegiate sports, the ENMU Greyhounds compete in the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference (LSC) with sports that include men’s and women’s track and field, cross country, and rodeo.
