East Texas Baptist University Description:

Situated among the pines in the eastern part of the state, East Texas Baptist University finds its home in Marshall, Texas. Integrating faith into education, East Texas Baptist hopes to create strong Christian character within their students while also molding them as learners and thinkers prepared to live and work in contemporary society. The student to faculty ratio is 14 to 1. Faculty are encouraged to help students live within the model of Christian character that the university prides itself on. All of the faculty within the employ of East Texas Baptist University are of the Christian faith. The East Texas Baptist Tigers compete in the NCAA Division III American Southwest Conference. The university sponsors an actual tiger at the Tiger Wildlife Refuge in Tyler, Texas, whose name is Sarge. Popular sports at the school include football, tennis, basketball, track and field, and soccer.
