Students with good grades and solid test scores have a good chance of being accepted to Dowling--the school has an accepted rate of 78%. To apply, those interested should visit the school's website to fill out the online application. Supplemental materials to the application include a high school transcript, one or two letters of recommendation, and a short personal essay. SAT or ACT are not required, although Dowling does accept them as part of the application.

Dowling College Description:

Dowling College is a private liberal arts college with three campuses located across Long Island, New York. The Rudolph Campus, the college’s main campus in Oakdale, New York, is 50 miles east of Manhattan and several minutes from Long Island’s beaches. Dowling’s Brookhaven Campus, adjacent to the Brookhaven Airport in Shirley, New York, is home to the college’s School of Aviation. Dowling has an average class size of 15 students and a student faculty ratio of 17 to 1. Academically, the college offers over 37 undergraduate programs, 13 master’s degrees in education, arts and sciences and business, and a doctoral degree in educational administration. Popular areas of study include business administration, special education, psychology and aviation management. Student life is active with 31 clubs and organizations on campus overseen by the Student Government Association. The Dowling Golden Lions compete in the NCAA Division II East Coast Conference.
