Delaware State University Admissions Overview:

Admissions at Delaware State are competitive--the school admits under half of those who apply each year. To be considered for admissions, students will need a minimum GPA of 2.0 (on the 4.0 scale). As part of the application process, students will need to submit an application, scores from the SAT or ACT, and a high school transcript. Delaware State is a historically Black university located on a historic 400-acre campus in Dover, Delaware. Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. are all within a couple hours. The oldest building on campus dates to the 1700s. The school is split into six colleges: Agriculture & Related Sciences, Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, Business, Education, Health & Public Policy, Mathematics, Natural Sciences & Technology, and the School of Graduate Studies and Research.

Undergraduates can choose from 56 bachelor degree programs housed within 21 academic departments. Psychology, mass communications and management are the most popular undergraduate fields. Delaware State also has 30 graduate degree programs. The university has a 13 to 1 student / faculty ratio. On the athletic front, the Delaware State Hornets compete in the NCAA Division I (FCS) Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
