Dallas Baptist University, with an acceptance rate of 43%, is a somewhat selective school, as over half of those who apply will not be admitted. Students will generally need grades and test scores above average in order to be accepted. Dallas Baptist University Description:

Dallas Baptist University is a private, four-year Baptist college located in Dallas, Texas, with additional locations in Hurst-Colleyville and Mansfield. DBU is especially proud of its 293-acre scenic main campus which overlooks Mountain Creek Lake, but is only 13 miles from downtown Dallas. DBU is a medium-sized college, with just over 5,500 students, a student/faculty ratio of 15 to 1, and an average class size of 14. The school offers 68 undergraduate majors, 23 master’s programs, and two doctoral degree programs between the colleges of Business, Christian Faith, Education, Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Professional Studies, and Natural Sciences and Mathematics. DBU also has an honors program, for those students interested in challenging themselves. This program offers advanced classes, more study abroad opportunities, and a senior thesis project students must complete. To keep engaged outside of the classroom, DBU students can choose from a long list of student organizations, a very active Greek life, and club sports including bass fishing, ice hockey, and dance. On the intercollegiate athletics front, the DBU Patriots compete in the NCAA Division II Heartland Conference with 15 varsity sports.
