Chatham University Description:

Founded in 1869 as the Pennsylvania Female College, Chatham University had been a women's college at the undergraduate level up through the 2014-15 academic year (continuing education and graduate programs have been coeducational). As of the fall of 2015, the university will be completely coeducational. The university is located in a historic section of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Chatham's curriculum emphasizes study-abroad, internships and service learning, as well as the Senior Tutorial -- an original research project conducted under the one-on-one guidance of a faculty member. For its strengths in the liberal arts and sciences, Chatham College was awarded a chapter of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Athletically, Chatham is a member of the NCAA Division III, in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
