California Lutheran University Description:

California Lutheran University occupies a 225-acre campus in Thousand Oaks, California, a city located between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. The school was founded in 1959 and in 2002 launched its first doctoral program. Students come from 39 states and 56 countries. As the name suggests, the university is affiliated with the Lutheran Church, but students come from a wide range of faiths and cultures. Undergraduates can choose from 37 majors and 31 minors; business is the most popular area of study. Athletics are supported by a 15 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 16. In athletics, the CLU Kingsmen and Regals compete in the NCAA Division III Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The university fields ten men's and ten women's intercollegiate teams.
