Belmont University is a rapidly growing private Christian university located on a 75-acre campus two miles from downtown Nashville, Tennessee. This location has helped Belmont's programs in music and music business flourish. The university frequently ranks highly among master's-level institutions in the south, and top-ranked Vanderbilt University is just a couple blocks away. Students can choose from over 75 areas of study; music business and nursing are the most popular with undergraduates. The university has a 13 to 1 student / faculty ratio, and about half of all classes have 20 or fewer students. On the athletic front, the Belmont University Bruins compete in the NCAA Division I Ohio Valley Conference.
