Barry University Admissions Overview:

Barry University requires test scores as part of the the admissions process. Both tests--the SAT and ACT--are accepted. Students also must submit an application and high school transcripts. There is no application fee for students who submit their applications online. While visiting the campus isn't a requirement of a student's application, it is strongly encouraged. With an acceptance rate of 46%, Barry is fairly selective; about half of students who apply do not get admitted.

Founded in 1940, Barry University is a private, four-year, Roman Catholic university located in Miami Shores, Florida. Barry offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs across its many schools and colleges: Business, Education, Law, Human Performance and Leisure Sciences, Podiatric Medicine, Social Work, Adult and Continuing Education, Arts and Sciences, and Health Sciences. High-achieving students should check out Barry's Honors Program. Academics at the university are supported by a 14 to 1 student / faculty ratio. For engagement outside of the classroom, Barry offers over 80 student clubs and organizations, fraternities and sororities, and intramural sports like dodge ball, kickball, and table tennis. For intercollegiate athletics, Barry competes in the NCAA Division II Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams. The school has won nine NCAA championships. Popular sports include baseball, soccer, softball, and rowing.
