The University of Texas at Austin is the flagship campus for the Texas university system. With close to 50,000 students, the university is one of the largest in the country. Academically, UT Austin frequently ranks as one of the top public universities in the U.S., and the McCombs School of Business is especially strong. Other strengths include education, engineering and law. The university's Longhorn athletic program, part of the Big 12 Conference, also ranks among the best in the country, and UT teams can boast of 39 NCAA championships.
