Students applying to SUNY Potsdam can submit an application through the SUNY system, or through the Common Application. The school is test-optional, so applicants are not required to submit scores from the SAT or ACT. They will, however, need to submit official high school transcripts and a letter of recommendation. Located in a small town in northern New York State, SUNY Potsdam offers students ready access to the Adirondack Mountains and St. Lawrence River. The village of Potsdam is home of Clarkson University, and St. Lawrence University and SUNY Canton are nearby. SUNY Potsdam wins high marks for its value, food, safety, and mentoring. The college has a student / faculty ratio of 15 to 1, and the Crane School of Music is particularly strong. The college presents 400 or more music, dance and theatre productions each year. And with over 100 student clubs and organizations, Potsdam students won't have a hard time keeping busy.
