Middle Tennessee State University Description:

Located southeast of Nashville in the small city of Murfreesboro, Middle Tennessee State University is a large public university that first opened its doors in 1911. MTSU was the first university in the state to establish an Honors College, an option for high achieving students looking for a more select academic atmosphere. The university has a 22 to 1 student / faculty ratio, and the programs in aerospace and the recording industry are both popular and well-regarded. In athletics, the MTSU Blue Raiders compete in the NCAA Division I Sun Belt Conference.
