This admissions data tells us that most of UGA's admitted students fall within the top 20% nationally on the SAT. For the evidence-based reading and writing section, 50% of students admitted to UGA scored between 630 and 700, while 25% scored below 630 and 25% scored above 700. On the math section, 50% of admitted students scored between 610 and 710, while 25% scored below 610 and 25% scored above 710. Applicants with a composite SAT score of 1460 or higher will have particularly competitive chances at University of Georgia.

Requirements

UGA does not require the optional SAT essay section. Note that the University of Georgia participates in the scorechoice program, which means that the admissions office will consider your highest score from each individual section across all SAT test dates. At UGA, SAT Subject tests are not required.

ACT Scores and Requirements

The University of Georgia requires that all applicants submit either SAT or ACT scores. During the 2018-19 admissions cycle, 67% of admitted students submitted ACT scores.

Admissions Chances

The University of Georgia is a selective public university where fewer than half of applicants are accepted. The primary criteria for admission is high grades and a rigorous course schedule. Required high school coursework includes four years of English, math, and science, three years of social studies, and two years of the same foreign language. Beyond GPA and a challenging high school curriculum, the next most important admission criteria at UGA is standardized test scores. UGA also requires that all applicants submit a school counselor evaluation letter and applicants have the opportunity to submit an optional academic letter of recommendation to improve their application.
