The College of St. Scholastica is a private Benedictine Catholic university located in Duluth, Minnesota. The college has additional campuses in St. Cloud, St. Paul, Brainerd and Rochester. The 186-acre main campus features attractive stone architecture and a view of Lake Superior. Founded in 1912 as a tiny college for women, the college today offers men and women a choice of dozens of majors. Professional fields in business and the health sciences are the most popular among undergraduates. The College of St. Scholastica has a 14 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 22. The school typically does well in rankings of colleges in the Midwest. In athletics, the St. Scholastica Saints compete in the NCAA Division III Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.
