Southwest Baptist University Description:

Founded in 1878, Southwest Baptist University is a four-year, private, Southern Baptist university in Bolivar, Missouri, with additional locations in Mountain View, Salem, and Springfield. SBU has consistently earned a place as one of America’s Best Christian Colleges and as one of America’s 100 Best College Buys. Including graduate students, SBU campuses have a total student body of about 3,800 and a student / faculty ratio of 15 to 1. The university offers 13 undergraduate degrees and 5 graduate degrees in over 80 areas of study through the College of Business and Computer Science, College of Education and Social Sciences, College of Sciences and Mathematics, Geneva Casebolt College of Music, Arts and Letters, Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the Courts Redford College of Theology and Ministry. SBU offers a long list of student clubs and intramural sports. On the intercollegiate front, the SBU  Bearcats compete in the NCAA Division II Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) for most sports. The university fields eight men's and nine women's intercollegiate sports.
