Lock Haven University Description:

Located along the Susquehanna River in Central Pennsylvania, Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania is a public, four-year university in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. LHU's 5,300 students are supported by a student / faculty ratio of 21 to 1, and an average class size of 30. The university offers 49 major and certificate programs across a wide range of areas in the arts, humanities, sciences, social sciences and professional fields. High achieving students should check out the Honors Program. Students stay involved outside of the classroom, for LHU is home to more than 150 student clubs and organizations including a Cricket Club, an Airsoft Club, and a Quidditch Team. LHU also has intramural and club sports including men’s and women’s boxing and rugby, and women’s wrestling. LHU competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and has 18 NCAA teams. The university's women’s field hockey and men’s wrestling teams are Division I, while most teams such as cross country, lacrosse, and swimming compete at the NCAA Division II level.
