Wilkes University Description:

Wilkes University is a comprehensive private residential university located on a 35-acre campus in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, just two blocks from King's College. New York City and Philadelphia are each about two hours away. Students can choose from a wide range of majors in the liberal arts, sciences, social sciences, and professional fields including nursing, engineering, and education. Courses are offered through the university's eight colleges and schools. Business and nursing are among the most popular areas of study. Academics are supported by a 15 to 1 student / faculty ratio and small classes (24 student average for first-year students; 16 students for upper-level classes). Student life is active with over 100 clubs and organizations including a long boarding club, cricket club, anime club and environmental club. On the intercollegiate front, the Wilkes University Colonels compete in the NCAA Division III Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC). The university fields 10 men's and 10 women's sports.
