University of Hawaii at Hilo Description:

The University of Hawaii at Hilo is a four-year, public university; founded in 1941 as a vocational college, it was reorganized into a university in the 1970s. The University offers degrees at the Bachelor, Masters, and Doctoral levels; some of the most popular areas of study include business, health services, Native American linguistics, psychology, and pharmacology. Academics are supported by a 15 to 1 student/faculty ratio. UH Hilo has an array of clubs and organization for students to join, in subjects ranging from art, to fitness, to music and dance, to outdoor activities. On the athletic front, UH Hilo is a member of the NCAA Division II Pacific West Conference, competing in baseball, golf, volleyball, cross country, soccer, and other sports. The university also host intramural sports such as dodgeball, softball, and Texas Hold-em.
