SVSU Admissions Overview:

Saginaw Valley State, admitting around three-quarters of applicants each year, is a largely accessible school. Students with good grades and test scores are likely to be admitted. SVSU Description:

Saginaw Valley State University is a public, four-year institution located in University Center, Michigan, about a hundred miles northwest of Detroit. SVSU's 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students are supported by a student/faculty ratio of 20 to 1 and an average class size of 21. The university offers a long list of undergraduate, graduate, and international programs between its Colleges of Arts and Behavioral Sciences; Business and Management; Education; Health and Human Services; and Science, Engineering, and Technology. Over 2,700 students live in the SVSU residence halls, which were voted by the Michigan Organization of Residence Halls Association to be “Michigan’s Best Residential Life.” SVSU is home to many student organizations, including the Saginaw Valley Paranormal Group and the Zombie Defense Council, several intramural sports, as well as 19 club sports including equestrian, paintball, and waterskiing. The university fields 16 varsity teams that compete in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
