Quincy University Description:

Founded in 1860, Quincy University is a private, four-year Roman Catholic institution in Quincy, Illinois, a small city in the western edge of the state along the Mississippi River. St. Louis is little over 100 miles away; Kansas City is about 200 miles to the west, and Chicago is 300 miles to the northeast. The university's roughly 1,500 students are supported by a student / faculty ratio of 14 to 1, and an average class size of 20. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate degree programs from the School of Education, Division of Fine Arts and Communication, Division of Humanities, School of Business, Division of Behavioral & Social Sciences, and Division of Science & Technology. Quincy also offers graduate and online options. With over 40 student clubs and organizations, several intramurals, two sororities and a fraternity, there is plenty to do on campus. On the athletic front, the Quincy Hawks compete in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) for most sports.
