One of the 24 campuses that makes up Penn State, the Abington campus is located in Abington, Pennsylvania, about 15 miles north of Center City, Philadelphia. Abington is a commuter campus, and the majority of students come from nearby counties, although 17 states and 27 countries are represented in the student body. Abington serves primarily undergraduates who can choose from 16 baccalaureate degrees; business and social psychology are the most popular majors. Academics are supported by a 21 to 1 student / faculty ratio. Students stay involved outside of the classroom through clubs and organizations such as The Abington Review, Art Club, Engineering Club, and Theatre Club. On the athletic front, the Nittany Lions compete in the NCAA Division III North Eastern Athletic Conference. The school fields six men's and seven women's intercollegiate teams. Students can also participate in intramural volleyball, basketball and badminton.
