Oglala Lakota College Description:

Located in Kyle, South Dakota, Oglala Lakota College was founded in 1971 by the Oglala Sioux Tribal Council. Originally, the college worked alongside other neighboring colleges and universities to grant degrees; in the late '80s and early '90s, the school earned accreditation, and now offers associate, bachelor, and master degrees. Students can earn these degrees in such areas as Native American Studies, Education, Social Work, and Lakota Studies and Leadership. On the athletic front, Oglala Lakota College fields men's and women's basketball teams, as well as archery. OLC has an active student government that coordinates across the different campus centers.
