North Park University Description:

North Park University is a private four-year Christian university affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church. Both the school's vision and core values emphasize its identity as "distinctly Christian," "intentionally urban," and "purposefully multicultural." While the school makes Christian faith central to its identity, North Park students come from a range of religious backgrounds. Students can choose from 37 majors, 26 minors and 20 pre-professional and special programs. Academics are supported by a 14 to 1 student / faculty ratio an an average class size of 18 students. Professional fields such as business and nursing are particularly popular with North Park students. The university's 30-acre campus is located on Chicago's north side, and students have easy access to the cultural opportunities of the city. North Park students can choose from a range of student clubs and organizations including intramural and club sports. The school's Helwig Recreation Center features an indoor track, climbing wall, fitness center, and more. On the intercollegiate front, the North Park University Vikings compete in the NCAA Division III College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. North Park fields seven men's and nine women's sports.
