New Jersey City University Admissions Overview:

New Jersey City University has an acceptance rate of 85%, making it accessible to the majority of applicants. Students with solid grades and test scores have a good chance of being admitted. New Jersey City University Description:

Located in Jersey City, NJCU was founded in 1929 as the New Jersey State Normal School at Jersey City. It became a liberal arts college in the 1960s, and became a full university in 1998. The school offers more than 40 undergraduate majors, and over 20 graduate programs. Popular areas of study include Psychology, Education, Nursing, and Music. Outside of the classroom, students are encouraged to join clubs and activities on campus; NJCU has an active Greek community, as well as a number of academic, social, and recreational groups. NJCU has a thriving Performing Arts department, and offers a range of courses and performance opportunities: a Shakespeare company, film festival, dance ensembles, choirs, and instrumental groups are just a few of the options available. On the athletic front, the Gothic Knights compete in the NCAA Division III, within the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Popular sports include baseball, bowling, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and tennis.
