McKendree University Description:

Founded in 1828, McKendree University is a four-year, private, United Methodist university in Lebanon, Illinois, with additional locations in Louisville and Radcliff, Kentucky. Founded in 1828, McKendree is the oldest college in Illinois. The school's 3,000 students are supported by a student / faculty ratio of 14 to 1, and an average class size of 14. McKendree offers 46 majors, 37 minors, 4 graduate programs, and one doctoral program. The university also offers classes online and at the Scott Air Force Base for military personnel. McKendree has a variety of student clubs and organizations, sororities and fraternities, and intramural sports to keep its students engaged outside of the classroom. McKendree fields 20 intercollegiate teams and is a member of the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). The women’s lacrosse team competes separately in the Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. The school’s mascot is Bogey, the Bearcat. Popular sports include water polo, wrestling, softball, basketball, football, and volleyball.
