Marymount California University Admissions Overview:

Marymount California University has open admissions: this means that all interested applicants have the opportunity to study there. Still, prospective students will need to submit an application. Along with that application, students will need to submit letters of recommendation, a personal essay, and high school transcripts. Marymount California University Description:

Founded in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, in 1968, MCU has gone through several changes in its history. Established as a two-year school by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary (RSHM), the school transitioned to a four-year school in the 1970s. It became an accredited university (with the addition of graduate degrees) and changed its named from Marymount College to Marymount Calfornia University in 2013. MCU offers Bachelor and Master degrees, with a comprehensive range of concentrations--the most popular being business, psychology, and communications. MCU follows its Catholic tradition, and provides a number of worship services, community service projects, and extracurricular activities available to students. On the athletic front, the Mariners compete in the California Pacific Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Popular sports include cross country, golf, soccer, and lacrosse.
