Framingham State University Description:

Located on a 50-acre campus 20 miles west of Boston, Framingham State University is a public liberal arts college. In 1839, Framingham State University was founded by abolitionist Horace Mann. At its founding, the University was the first public school for teacher preparation. Today, teacher education remains a popular program, but other fields such as business and psychology are also heavily enrolled. Academics are supported by a student to faculty ratio of 15 to 1, and the university places student success at the heart of its mission. With 60 clubs and organizations on campus, Framingham State University students have access to a variety of activities beyond their academic pursuits. The Framingham State University Rams compete in the NCAA Division III Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.
