Dean College Description:

Founded in 1865 as the Dean Academy, Dean has seen many changes during its long history. During the second world war, the academy added a Junior College, and by the 1990s the college began offering bachelor's degrees along with associate degrees. Dean's 100-acre campus is located in Franklin, Massachusetts, just 30 miles from both Boston and Providence. Students can easily walk to a train station serving Boston. Dean College offers 15 associate degrees and 5 bachelor degrees, and academics are supported a 17 to 1 student / faculty ratio. The arts at Dean are particularly strong, and the college takes pride in graduating its bachelor degree students in four years. The college has seen significant capital improvements in recent years with the construction of new buildings and the renovation of older structures. Campus life is active with over 25 student clubs and organizations. On the athletic front, the Dean Bulldogs compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association. The school fields 6 men's and 4 women's intercollegiate sports.
