Concordia University Chicago Description:

Concordia University Chicago is a private liberal arts-focused university affiliated with the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. The university is home to four colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education, and College of Graduate and Innovative Programs. Concordia's 40-acre campus is located in River Forest, Illinois, just ten miles from downtown Chicago. The university has more graduate than undergraduate students, and many of the masters degree programs are offered online. The student body is diverse, and undergraduates come from over 40 states and countries, Undergraduate academics are supported by a 17 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 17. The university represents a good value, and all undergraduates receive some form of grant aid. Campus life at Concordia is active, and the university hosts a wide range of clubs, organizations, volunteer programs, and service learning opportunities. On the athletic front, Concordia offers 13 intramural sports including ultimate frisbee, dodgeball, flag football and floor hockey. For intercollegiate options, the CUC Cougars compete in the NCAA Division III Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC). The university fields seven men's and seven women's intercollegiate sports.
