Question: I have the opportunity to rush a fraternity or sorority my first year. Should I?
Answer: If you’re a free-spirit who likes privacy, Greek life could be a bad idea. On the other hand, fraternities and sororities provide you with a tight-knit peer group, a structured social life, and a lot of opportunity to take on leadership roles. Be sure to research a house extensively before beginning the rush process -- hazing is still common on some campuses, and some houses have lousy academic track records.
