Southwestern Oklahoma State University Description:

Southwestern Oklahoma State University is a public, four-year institution located in Weatherford, Oklahoma, a small city less than an hour from Oklahoma City. The university has a branch campus in Sayre, Oklahoma. Students come from 34 states and 34 countries, although the majority of students are from Oklahoma. SWOSU's roughly 5,000 students are supported by an 18 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 23. SWOSU offers a wide variety of degrees from its College of Arts and Sciences, College of Pharmacy, College of Professional and Graduate Studies, College of Associate and Applied Programs, and Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribal College. Professional fields such as nursing, education and business are among the most popular with undergraduates. The university also has many online degree options. The university's many student clubs and organizations include a robotics club and a Quidditch club, and a few intramural sports. For intercollegiate sports, the SWOSU Bulldogs compete in the NCAA Division II Great American Conference (GAC). The university fields five men's and seven women's sports. Options include football, rodeo, golf, basketball and volleyball.
