Southeastern Oklahoma State University Description:

Tracing its roots back to the early 20th century, Southeastern Oklahoma State University is located in Durant, Oklahoma. Durant, with a population of around 16,000, is about two hours north of Dallas, Texas. SOSU offers a range of academic fields and degrees--with some of the most popular including Psychology, Education, Criminal Justice, and Business Management. Students can also earn a graduate degree, with options including Education and Business. Outside of the classroom, students can join fraternities, sororities, and an additional number of student-run clubs and organizations. These clubs range from academic or career-oriented groups, to recreational clubs, to volunteer, multicultural, and social activities. For students interested in the performing arts, SOSU has an active theater group, with over eights performances/events each school year. Recent productions include "Anything Goes," "Little Shop of Horrors," and "The Mousetrap." On the athletic front, the SOSU Savage Storm compete in the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division II, within the Great American Conference. Popular sports include tennis, rodeo, cross country, softball, and basketball.
